About Enaakshi Kotwal

Enaakshi Kotwal is a Mumbai-based Indian classical and performing artist, choreographer, influencer, and artistic director of Enaakshi Kotwal Dance Company.

She is regarded among the most graceful and versatile performers in India, known for her rare ability to embody multiple dance systems with equal depth and authenticity.
What sets her apart is her deep, disciplined specialization in three distinct dance traditions — Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and Belly Dance. Rather than treating these forms as surface-level styles, she has trained and evolved in each as a complete artistic language.
She holds a Visharad in Kathak and Bharatanatyam, and has trained in Bharatanatyam under her gurus Varsha Barad and Sonal Choksi, building strong foundations in technique, abhinaya, rhythm, and classical philosophy.
Alongside Indian classical training, she has developed advanced specialization in authentic Egyptian and Turkish Belly Dance, bringing its cultural and theatrical vocabulary to Indian stages. Her work includes traditional performance elements such as Sword, Veil, Isis Wings, and Drum Solo techniques, presented with strong focus on storytelling, character, and stage presence.
What makes her unique is her rare bodily adaptability across forms — her movement quality, posture, and expression shift completely and naturally between three very different systems. Each style is performed in its true technical and cultural identity, not as fusion, but as full immersion. This depth across multiple disciplines is what defines her artistic identity.
She has performed at prestigious platforms such as the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (Mumbai) and other national and international stages. She has also been invited as a judge and mentor at reputed institutions and festivals including Mithibai College festivals, Mood Indigo (IIT Bombay), and IIMUN, reflecting her recognition in the performing arts community.
Alongside performance, she leads professional training programs, workshops, private choreography, corporate sessions, wedding choreography, and cultural dance experiences for international clients. She is also an active digital creator and fashion influencer, blending movement, aesthetics, and storytelling.

For Enaakshi, dance is not just performance—it is embodied discipline, cultural memory, and artistic transformation.
